What a weekend!

We had a good crowd and a good time at The Depot in Hillsborough this past Friday – thanks to everyone for coming out!

Hillsborough Farmers' Market July 2013Saturday was chock full of new experiences. We played Hillsborough Farmers’ Market in the morning, and felt so welcomed and appreciated. We would love to go back and play there again. Thanks to all the vendors who tipped us in food – what a sweet, generous group of people!

WCOM July 2013Later, Cara and I were interviewed on WCOM‘s Licks and Lyrics program, talked about our songwriting, and performed a few songs. We thoroughly enjoyed that experience, and are grateful to the station and Kirk Ridge for the opportunity to share our music! You can download or stream the interview here.

Upcoming, this weekend

This weekend is pretty special, and busy. We’ve got three opportunities to showcase our new originals.

Friday, July 19 at 6:45pm we’ll play at The Depot at Hillsborough Station. We had such a great time there when we played in May, and are very happy to be going back!

Saturday, July 20 at 10am we’re back in Hillsborough at the Farmers’ Market. We’ll be under a tent and thankful for the shade, I’m sure!

Saturday, July 20 at 3pm: My radio debut! I’ll be on “Licks and Lyrics” on WCOM 103.5 FM, Carrboro’s community radio station, along with Cara Bonnett, with whom I’ve been collaborating on new songs. This opportunity came to us by way of Kirk Ridge and the NC Songwriters Co-op. Thanks, Kirk!

Beaufort solo gig

Tonight I’ll be playing at Beaufort Grocery, a critically-acclaimed restaurant located on NC’s beautiful Crystal Coast. The owner, Charles Park, and manager Victoria Patrick were kind enough to have me play at their sister location, Beaufort Grocery Too, in Morehead City, several times before it closed recently. Tonight’s performance will be solo, during their wine tasting at 117 Queen St, from 6-8pm. I’m really looking forward to playing at this new spot (for me) and seeing our friends again. If you’re at the beach, come on out!
